Our rental terms

The agreement

The rental period commences on the date the equipment is delivered to the “Rider” and will be for the number of nights as ordered by the “Rider”, (the Term).  TravelScoot Canada does not charge rent while the equipment is in transit.

Rent & Security Deposit

The total rent for the equipment will be as shown on the order form for the Term specified.  The “Rider” agrees to a credit card charge of the total rental amount as calculated and shown on the Rental Order Form and a security deposit of $500.00.  TravelScoot will refund the security deposit  when the equipment is returned in the same condition as when the “Rider” received it.  The “Rider” agrees to immediately call TravelScoot upon receipt of the equipment if damages have occurred during shipment or if any parts are missing when checked against the packing list.  Pictures may be requested by TravelScoot.

Refund, Returns, Cancellation & Rental Extension Policy

If for any reason you wish to cancel your rental order please call us.  When notice of cancellation is received by us before your scooter has left our premise (TravelScoot business hours 8am-4pm PST Monday through Friday) the “Rider” shall receive a full refund less a $100 processing fee.  If the rental order is cancelled after the scooter has left for its destination there will be $250 cancellation fee.  No refunds will be issued should the scooter be returned before the end of the rental period.

Rental extension requests must be submitted for approval to TravelScoot no less than 72 hours before your original  return date.  Administration fees may apply.

Should TravelScoot for any reason, cancel the rental agreement, the “Rider’s” money shall be refunded in full (limited to the amount as described by the Rental Order Form).

Use of Equipment

The “Rider”, being of sound mind, will use the equipment in a responsible and careful manner and will comply with TravelScoot guidelines for use found in the Owner’s Manual which includes recommendations for the wearing of a DOT approved helmet.

The “Rider” shall also comply with all local, Provincial/State, Federal laws in respect to the use of personal mobility devices.

The Rider does hereby release and discharge TravelScoot, its employees, servants, agents, successors and assigns and each of them (the “Releases”) of and from any and all actions, causes of actions, claims, demands, damages, interest, costs, expenses and compensation of whatsoever kind and howsoever arising, whether known or unknown, and which the Rider now has or at any time hereafter can, shall or may have against the Releases in any way resulting or arising now or in the future from this Agreement, unless TravelScoot has otherwise agreed in this Agreement.

TravelScoot warrants that the equipment will be in good working order upon delivery.  The equipment is designed to carry one person weighing up to 320 pounds/145 kgs.  Using the equipment beyond the specified weight limit may result in injury to the user and damage to the equipment.

Loss & Damage
The “Rider” will be responsible for risk of loss, theft, and damage including damage caused by overweight operation.  If a loss, theft or damage occurs the “Rider” agrees to allow TravelScoot to charge his/her credit card for the full cost of any repairs, lost accessories and parts up to the full cost of a replacement TravelScoot ($3,295).  It is strongly suggested that the “Rider” have adequate insurance to cover any loss, damages or injuries the “Rider” or any third party may sustain during the term of this Agreement.

This agreement will be construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia, CANADA.
